Are white watches on men considered gay?

I really want a Nixon rubber player but do not want a very colorful one so that I can wear it more often. I was considering either the white one or the grey one with the blue hands. I'd rather have the white one, but some one told me that wearing a white watch is only for black men, gay men, and women. (I'm a white straight man). Should I get the white watch or the grey? If you think I should get a different color, also feel free to let me know.
