Are my friend's parents spies?

Their house is full of secret agent type stuff. There are bricks in the hallway that move when you touch them and I believe the fireplace is an elevator to their underground laboratory. The entertainment center looks like it slides into the ground, and so does the island in the kitchen. There are lots of random switches on the wall that don't do anything apparent. There are strange holes around the furniture that look like hiding places. They have a trash compactor instead of a garbage can. Could this be a sign that my friend's parents are spies???
